We gambled again by getting another bargain deal from Fox Rent A Car in SLC for our trip to Idaho and thankfully had no issues with that company. However, apparently they’re a small company and we weren’t prepared for these quirks - we should have read the fine print. In the end, it was hard to beat Nu Car rental rates. As we had prepaid and our booking was non-refundable, we had to eat the cost of renting a car from another agency for that portion of our trip. We had never rented a car with such restrictions before. Considering Idaho was only an hour and a half away, we were quite astonished. Next, we found out we were not allowed to drive the car to Idaho, one of our intended destinations. Still, considering we had prepaid, we felt they should have held our car. Thankfully, a suitable car arrived in a bit over an hour. Their lot was empty and they said it could be hours or days. Nu Car said our only option was to wait indefinitely for another suitable car to arrive. Jun 2022 We arrived (granted two hours and five minutes late) to find that the car we had prepaid for had been given to someone else.
